Eighteen people killed in two roadside bombs attack in Afghanistan


Authorities say five Afghan soldiers and three policemen died in attacks in the south and east of the country, the latest insurgent strikes against Afghanistan's security forces.

A roadside bomb killed 10 civilians, including women and a child, in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province Thursday, police said, blaming Taliban insurgents.

“Ten civilians including four women and a child were killed as their civilian vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Musa Qala district of Helmand province today,” Helmand police spokesman Ahmad Farid Farhang told AFP.
