Another ceasefire violation in Jammu; one BSF jawan killed

Jammu: A ceasefire violation that began last night has resumed at the international border in the R S Pura sector of Jammu. One BSF jawan has died,

The firing between Pakistani rangers and the Border Security Force (BSF) which had stopped for the night, started again this morning after the rangers fired at the ambush points of the BSF.

This is the third violation in the last two days.

On Independence Day too, firing between the two sides started after Pakistani Rangers targetted a BSF observation post in the Hiranagar sector and fired at forward posts in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch.

There was also firing at Indian Border Out Post (BoP) of Pansar along International Border in Samba sector.

Sources in the BSF say there has been an upsurge in ceasefire violations over the last few days. They say one of the reasons could be the discovery of a secret underground 400 metres tunnel, dug at a depth of 25 feet that was recently detected in the Samba district of Jammu.
