Tehran: Iran will not shut down its underground bunker of Fordow uranium enrichment facilities, the head of Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran has said.
Ali-Akbar Salehi Wednesday strongly rejected western media reports claiming that he discussed closing down Fordow nuclear site, used for high-grade enrichment activities, during the recent annual meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), reported Xinhua.
Western reports also said that Iran had developed proposals to the powers in the upcoming nuclear talks, including a limit in its enrichment activities, in return for lifting significant portion of the western sanctions against Tehran.
On Wednesday, Salehi said the atmosphere of the latest session of the IAEA on Iran's nuclear issue was much more constructive than the previous ones.
Iran and the IAEA will meet for the 11th round of talks Sep. 27 in Vienna, aiming at striking a deal on a "structured approach" toward a nuclear inspection framework.
