The chief political advisor of Prime Minister, Devendra Paudel, has claimed that the opposition parties are conspiring to overthrow the current government t by inciting the President to stage a coup.

Speaking at an interaction organised by the Reporters’ Club in the capital on Sunday, Paudel said the President should not get his hands dirty by engaging in the dirty game of politics - that of forming and overthrowing the government.
He said any move to bring the President into active politics will not only be detrimental to democracy and the political parties in the country including the presidency itself but also push the country towards further chaos and turmoil.

The Indigenous and Madhesi leaders of CPN-UML have announced that they will boycott the national cadre meet of the party set to start from Monday.
Complaining that instead of addressing their grievances the party leadership called the national cadre meet to weaken their stance on identity-based federalism, the Indigenous and Madhesi leaders said they are boycotting the two-day national level meet being organised by the party to discuss the unceremonious demise of the Constituent Assembly and the political developments after it.

Dahal confers with NC president; urges consensus
Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala at the latter's residence in Maharajgunj on Sunday to discuss a possible way out of the current political stalemate.
In the meeting, Dahal told the NC president that he was ready for talks on different options for drafting the new constitution as well as on the issue of the government. He said there was no other way than a negotiated settlement to the current crisis.
However, Koirala is known to have said that his party along with other opposition parties were suspicious of the intentions of the Maoist-Madhesi government and the Maoist party. He said resignation of the Prime Minister would create ground for consensus.
The Maoist chairman met Koirala a day after a mass meeting organised by his party at Khula Manch from where he declared that his party was ready for dialogue for consensus among the parties.
