LAHORE: Former Supreme Court Bar Association president and human rights activist Asma Jahangir has called for a probe into her assassination plot reported by The Washington Post.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, she demanded that the Pakistan government take prompt notice of the news and find out the forces who wanted to silence her.
Ms Jahangir said her well wishers had already told her about the murder plot and she had disclosed it at a press conference some months ago.
She said she had been struggling for democracy and protection of human rights in the country and her voice could not be silenced.
