Three cops injured in blast

PESHAWAR: Three policemen received minor injuries on Monday after a roadside bomb hit the vehicle they were travelling in.

The bomb was planted on a small bridge and detonated when the police vehicle was crossing it. The blast took place in Sarband area, close to border with Khyber tribal region where Taliban-linked militancy is keeping Peshawar disturbed. The three injured cops were shifted to hospital, said a Rescue 1122 worker. Attacks on police in suburbs have been on the rise in recent weeks and scores of policemen have been killed and injured.
