Saudi-US talks focus on expanding cooperation


Crown Prince Salman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, discussed expanding Saudi-American military cooperation during his meeting with Gen. Lloyd Austin, commander of US Central Command, in Riyadh on Sunday.

The two discussed latest Middle East developments emphasizing the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States.



Senior political and security officials attended the meeting from the Saudi side including Deputy Defense Minister Prince Salman bin Sultan, Chief of the Crown Prince’s Court Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Ambassador to the US Adel Al-Jubeir, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Hussein Al-Qabail.

US Charge d’Affaires Timothy Lenderking, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Middle East Policy Matthew Spence, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk, and Chief of US Military Training Mission in Saudi Arabia Maj. Gen. Thomas Harwood attended the talks on the American side.
