Bomb defused in Karachi

KARACHI: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused a bomb concealed in a cement block  near Cheel Chowk in Karachi’s Lyari area on Friday, DawnNews reported.

The bomb, concealed in a cement block, was placed outside a shop near Cheel Chowk in Lyari area of Karachi.

Police and BDS personnel reached the spot upon receiveing information of a bomb planted in Karachi’s Lyari area. Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident.

According to police sources the lacally-produced bomb was fitted with a remote-controlled detonation device and six to seven kilograms of explosive material and ball bearing were used in its making.
