ISLAMABAD: Setting Jan 28 as the date for the next hearing in the case pertaining to the controversial memo alleged to have been sent by Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, the Supreme Court issued notices to all those party in it,  DawnNews reported on Monday.

A nine-member larger bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, will resume the hearing of the case pertaining to the memo sent to former US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen seeking US intervention to avert a possible overthrow of the government by the military.

The Supreme Court issued notices to Haqqani, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Ministry of Defence.

In its latest order, the court once again directed security officials to devise arrangements for the former ambassador’s security and subsequently inform the Supreme Court registrar on those.
