Imran Farooq murder: Scotland Yard releases photos of two suspects

KARACHI: The Metropolitan Police Service London (MPS) also known as the Scotland Yard on Tuesday released photographs of the two men suspected of being involved in the murder of Dr Imran Farooq, DawnNews reported.

Scotland Yard has also claimed that both suspects are in custody of Pakistani authorities.

In January this year, BBC news had reported that the suspects had been identified by the names of Mohsin Ali Syed and Muhammad Kashif Khan.

The BBC had said that the two had arrived in England on a student visa.

It was alleged that Kashif Khan had come to England days before Farooq's murder.

Also, both suspects had enrolled at a college situated in east London, the site of which was also featured in a documentary run by BBC's Newsnight program.

Farooq was murdered on September 16, 2010 in London.

Aged 50, the MQM leader was on his way home from work when he was attacked in London's Green Lane outside his residence. A post-mortem examination found that Farooq had died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.
