NAB staffers protest over colleague’s ‘mysterious’ death



ISLAMABAD: Staffers of the National Accountability Bureau’s Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar offices were protesting on Monday over the ‘mysterious’ death of Kamran Faisal, a NAB officer who had been investigating the rental power projects (RPP) case, DawnNews reported.




The staffers in Lahore, who included officers and other bureau personnel, wore black armbands to work to register their protest over Faisal’s alleged suicide.

Whereas, NAB employees working in its Peshawar and Quetta offices registered their protest by wearing black armbands has well as a ‘pen down’ strike.

NAB officials were also protesting in other parts of the country.

On Jan 20, the government formed a judicial commission to ascertain the cause of the Faisal’s death.

Faisal, 35, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his official residence in Federal Lodges on Friday. His death came days after the Supreme Court had ordered the arrest of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 15 others in connection with the RPP scam.
