Anti-national slogans raised in Kishtwar


Tension gripped Kishtwar town after some miscreants allegedly shouted “pro-azadi and pro-Pakistan slogans” in this communally sensitive area after Eid prayers.
Although the authorities are tightlipped over the incident, reports said after the Eid prayers, a group of people, a majority of them youth, took out a rally.

The rally started from Chowgan in the town and passed through different areas. During the rally, some miscreants raised provocative slogans. Despite the presence of a huge contingent of the police, the miscreants raised “pro-azadi and pro-Pakistan slogans”.

Thousands of people were present during the Eid prayers. After the prayers, some people took out a separate rally, which passed through Hidiyal Chowk. During the rally, provocative and anti-national slogans were raised.

Tension gripped the town as soon as news regarding the incident spread. Fear-stricken members of the minority community immediately brought the matter to the notice of the police.
