Kabul:A number of hostages taken by Taleban militants during an attack on a Kabul hotel have been freed, the interior ministry said on Friday.Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi, who did not specify how many hostages had been released, told AFP that four or five attackers were involved in the assault on the hotel by Qargha lake, a popular beauty spot, two of whom have been killed.
Afghan security forces and coalition troops are responding to the assault at the site at Qargha Lake on the outskirts of the Afghan capital, a spokesman for Nato's International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) told AFP.
The target appeared to be Afghan police and civilians, Isaf said, adding there were reports of police and civilian casualties.
